The Embassy of Uzbekistan Visitation to UPI: Commemorating Uzbekistan’s Constitution Day and Strengthening Cross-Cultural Partnership

The Embassy of Uzbekistan visited Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) on December 19, 2024, to celebrate Uzbekistan’s Constitution Day at the Faculty of Social Science Education UPI. The delegations of the Embassy who attended the event were Oybek Eshonov (Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Indonesia), Oybek Abdiev (Principal Secretary), Abdirakhmon Omonkulov (Consulate), Abdurakhmon Artikboev (Accounting Staff), Ravshan Rakhimov (Assistant Ambassador), and Dilshod (Chef). Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A and  Prof. Dr. Didi Sukyadi, M.A were representing UPI to attend the event.

Before the main agenda, the representations from the Embassy and UPI had a meeting. “We are grateful for this opportunity of collaboration between Uzbekistan and UPI. We are thankful because UPI has accepted and facilitated the students from Uzbekistan,” said Oybek Eshonov for his opening remark. Eshonov highlighted the importance of the chance of studying abroad for students and hope this collaboration will be a way to increase the education’s quality.

Prof. Dr. M. Solehuddin, M.Pd., M.A stated that although the collaboration is still limited to several programs, UPI hope this opportunity can be a start to widen the collaborations that are benefited for students and academic communities from Uzbekistan and Indonesia. He added, “We hope this opportunity can strengthen the partnership between Uzbekistan and UPI.”

Furthermore, possible partnership programs between UPI and universities in Uzbekistan were also discussed in the room before headed to the main event at the hall of the Faculty of Social Science Education UPI where the cooking and eating took place. The event went smoothly; joyous laughs were shared through shared foods and the light talks fulfilled the fun day of commemorating the Uzbekistas’s Constitution Day. (najla syifa)
